SEKI + SATO

In early 2020 we were approached by pioneers in the Food & Manufacturing industry spanning the East African and Japanese markets. Mrs. Seki and Mr. Sato are legends in the sector, having decades of experience building and growing local production and supply chains for Kenyan and International markets. 

We happily accepted the task of creating a corporate brand identity for the business advisory firm newly founded by the well-respected duo - SEKI and SATO. 

We chose a minimalist approach for the brand identity. The sparse black and white word-mark and monogram delivered this to us, while maintaining a nod to vertical inking letterforms in Japanese heritage. Furthermore, we wanted the brand image to deliver on the professional representation of the firm. To achieve this we narrowed down on block san-serif typography for the word-mark, embodying the aforementioned qualities. The ‘+’ uniting SEKI and SATO became our primary stylistic device used to develop a clean, minimalistic pattern that would complement the brand beautifully.
